There are plenty of reasons to like the stackable ladders for high reach cleaning, check out a few of them listed below:
- Each section is roughly 6’ in length which makes for easier storage. Whether your work vehicle is a pickup truck, van/transit or even some sedans with foldable seats you will be able to easily store your ladders in your vehicle. Each section slips into the top of the one below it with yokes and secures with locking pins. At the end of the job, you can remove the pins and easily fit right back into your vehicle.
- The Metallic ladders are made from a very durable grade of aluminum, in most cases the ladders last well over a decade.
- There are other ladder options out there that will give you multiple angles you can safely set your ladders up with. However, most of these style ladders can be heavy and are often cumbersome to maneuver. The sectional ladders are light weight and easy to move and with a full set (top piece, 2 centers and a bottom piece) you will get roughly 24’ of reach.
- It can be difficult and dangerous trying to safely set your ladders up on an uneven surface. A great add on feature are the ladder levelers. Once assembled (DIY assembly), these allow you to safely operate your ladders on uneven surfaces with a self-leveling safety swivel foot.
Two options available for the top:
- You can get the top piece with the V-Groove. This comes with a reinforced aluminum v-groove at the top portion to protect the top rung as well as helping seat that top piece when positioned on a corner of a building.
- The second option would be the open top piece. This does not have the v-groove support bar and is slightly lighter.
Two options available for the bottom:
- One of the bottom piece options have rubber plugs on the bottom portion. The base with rubber plugs installed on the bottom are to help resist slipping. Base sections are flared at the bottom for greater stability. Detroit Sponge sells replacement rubber plugs.
- The second option have the safety swivel feet with the rubber soles. This is the most popular style base section. Base sections are also flared at the bottom for greater stability. Detroit Sponge sells replacement swivel feet.
We also offer 2 different style ladder bonnets, standard and long version. These can be placed over the top portion of the top piece to protect the surface the top piece will rest upon.
All of our Metallic Ladders are 6-foot sections. Keep in mind that one foot of length will be lost at each joint to provide the adequate overlap for safe assembly and use. So, a full set of four 6-foot ladder sections will be 21 feet.
