Useful tips when using a scraper:
ALWAYS start in a small inconspicuous corner of the window before scraping. Check to make sure the glass is not scratching while scraping.
When using a scraper, NEVER drag your scraper back and forth across the glass. ALWAYS run your scraper over the glass and when you reach the end of where you’re scraping, pick the scraper up from the glass and repeat the process.
NEVER use a scraper on glass that has a film/tint on it. This film and tint are typically on the interior portion of the glass. However, on a few occasions window cleaners have discovered that tint has been improperly installed on the exterior portion of the glass. So always be on the lookout. You typically can tell if this film/tint is on the glass by the edges. You should be able to see where this tint ends before you reach the very edge of the window frame.
NEVER use a scraper on any type of acrylic glass. Such as Plexiglass, Acrylite, Lucite, Crylux, Perclax, Astariglas and Perspex. This will most definitely leave heavy scratches behind.
